• How I do things

Each item I create blends traditional craftsmanship with modern engineering principles. Using a combination of time-honored woodworking techniques and state-of-the-art tools, I ensure that every piece is not only visually striking but also built to last.

Hand tools like chisels, planes, and saws allow for fine-tuned precision and a deep connection to the material. Meanwhile, modern equipment such as CNC machines, table saws, and routers ensure consistency and accuracy, especially for complex designs. This balance of old and new methods allows me to achieve a level of detail and quality that stands out in every product.

Designing and testing each piece is a crucial part of the process. I prototype and refine every detail—ensuring that the final product is not only beautiful but also robust and functional.

My goal is to create unique, handcrafted items that look as good as they perform, using methods and tools that ensure both durability and timeless appeal.

  • Materials I use

A commitment to sustainability drives my material choices. Much of the wood I use comes from salvaged sources—old furniture, discarded lumber, reclaimed flooring, and scrap wood from lumber yards. These materials are re-milled and repurposed, giving them new life while reducing landfill waste.

For non-salvaged wood, I source all lumber from North America, with most coming from within 200 miles of Arlington, VA. This approach supports local suppliers and ensures high-quality, sustainable materials.

Whenever possible, I use hardware—like hinges and latches—from U.S., Canadian, or European manufacturers. While offshoring has limited some options, I prioritize sourcing from regions known for quality craftsmanship.

  • Philosophy

We are dedicated to crafting premium, lasting products. Cheap, mass-produced materials like MDF, HDF, and harmful plastics such as acrylic are never part of our products. Instead, we embrace sustainable, natural wood that stands the test of time—both in durability and environmental responsibility.

We take pride in every piece we create. If it’s not something we’d proudly use in our homes, it’s not something we’ll offer you.

Honesty and integrity guide every aspect of our work. Fair pricing, transparency, and uncompromising quality are promises you can count on with each purchase.

I grew up in a family of drywall, plaster, stucco and carpenters; at age 12 I was working on job sites with my father and grand father in the Northern VA, Southern MD and DC areas. For my entire life I've been building things for myself and others.

I built my first computer when I was 9 (XT 286) and first network (Token Ring) when I was 13. A Computer Engineer of 25+ years, I've worked for Startups, Federal Gov't and Commercial companies designing, building and deploying computer infrastructure and software systems.

I am an active gamer and not afraid to admit it! Currently, I play Blood Bowl (Games Workshop), X-Wing (FFG/AMG), Gloomhaven, Warcry (Games Workshop) and Pen and Paper (Pathfinder and Starfinder from Paizo). I’ve also played Warhammer 40k, DnD (2e-3.5e), Shadowrun, GURPS, World of Darkness games, and countless other Pen and Paper RPGs. My family and I routinely play Tabletop Games like Settlers, Carcasonne, Ticket to Ride, Pokemon TCG and many other games. The number of computer games I've played date all the way back to the commodore 64 and are too numerous to name.

The Fantasy Football Pitch (see custom work) I created a many years ago, has traveled with me to Blood Bowl Tournaments up and down the eastern seaboard and in local league play. I made it to solve several problems including team storage, complete pitch storage so I can put it away in our small house and travel with a complete setup without a ton of bags. Over these travels people asked me about creating one for them, which got me thinking about creating a company.

In 2019 after severe burnout I retired from IT and started down a path to merge my three loves, woodworking, gaming and engineering. I still dable in computers and keep up with the field.
